The Amsterdam-born, San Juan-raised artist, Bodine is bringing a kaleidoscopic sensuality to her music. The international Dominican-Dutch artist spent a lot of time in New York working as a model and is currently based in Miami, FL. Bodine has been influenced by the many cities she’s lived in which has led her to create an eclectic and global sound.
Early interest in Pop icons such as Madonna and the Spice Girls molded her into the artist she has become. After moving to San Juan at a young age and hearing reggaeton for the first time, which was a “shocking” experience, she developed a deeper passion for Spanish-language music. Between Frank Reyes’ bachata that she listened to with her Dominican mother and her exposure to classical music in the public arts programs of Puerto Rico, Bodine found a home in the rhythms of the Caribbean. It was at the intersection of these contrasting styles that she began to envision the possibilities of creating her own music.
Bodine has already started making her mark by receiving coverage from the likes of Telemundo, Remezcla, and Hola! Magazine to name a few. Along with that the Dominican artist has also collaborated with rising artists Zizzy (of AQUIHAYAQUIHAY), Chicocurlyhead, and Fuego. In her short career, all signs indicate that Bodine is poised to be a global star. More news + music from Bodine coming soon!
