After the release of “On The Nice List,” a duo of covers of two of today’s biggest holiday hits “All I Want For Christmas is You” and “Last Christmas,” the Tamaulipas native kicks off 2024 with the release of her original song «Como Tú.»

In «Como Tú,» Alexia Mariel is unable to fathom how quickly the person she believed was the love of her life has moved on, while she grapples with the difficult process of letting go. Mariel exposes a more vulnerable side to her listeners, stating she is not the type of girl who can overcome heartbreak so quickly or to starting again in an attempt to erase memories. Despite recognizing she is only hurting herself, Mariel struggles to reconcile with how quickly her former partner let go of their relationship, and she can’t help but continue to miss him. This authentic and raw depiction of emotional turmoil serves as a universal portrayal of the grieving process in the aftermath of a breakup.
Produced by José Flores ‘Maui’, the music video starts off black and white and transitions to colors, depicting Alexia Mariel in distress, being tormented by the loss of the one she loves. Sitting in an empty room surrounded by nothing but the four white walls around her, Mariel finds herself in mourning, feeling completely hopeless and lost. Throughout the video, we see Mariel head to toe in an all black outfit as symbolism of the grief and heartache she is currently facing.
Though her passion for music began at a very young age, it wasn’t until 2020 when Mariel got her start in the music industry. She began building her platform on YouTube and Tiktok upload covers and impression Spanish adaptions of songs by some of today’s biggest artist like Olivia Rodrigo, Conan Gray, Madison Beer, BLACKPINK and more, all written by her and signed to Selective Hearing in January of 2023. With several viral videos and over 3k monthly listeners, Alexia Mariel is well on her way to becoming Mexico’s new rising star.
